TermiteCities

TermitenStädte (Termite Cities) shows a triptych of three varying approaches to the phenomenon city. Three theatrical blueprints are unfolded in sequence, creating atmospheres of highly varying color using the hybrid media of language, puppets and video.

The evening is a journey through designs for urban life, where traces of language and thought are pursued by two actors, leading the audience from the ruins of a futuristic city into the concentrated inner space of the puppet world of Termitopolis.

Using the video signals of multiple live cameras combined with city scenes shot in advance, Airan Berg opens associative spaces in a live-mixed cinematic world. The suggestive electronic sounds produced by Helge Hinteregger submerge each part of the triptych in its own specific atmosphere while at the same time creating an unified acoustic space interwoven with the echoes of the individual worlds.
